The 10 Best Fall Date Ideas!

Fall season or Autumn as some people like to call it is approaching us soon. Although Summer still has a few more weeks if we want to get technical here, most of us Fall lovers were already setting up for the season on September 1st. September means the beginning of Fall which means cozy sweaters, cute knee high boots, Pumpkin Spiced everything, Halloween, and what I'm most excited for, cliché and adorable Fall dates with my boyfriend. This will be my first official Fall season with a boyfriend to share all these cute date night ideas with and I'm PUMPED. I love to come up with and experience cheesy yet classic date ideas, and with one of my favorite seasons AND my favorite holiday (Halloween) coming up, I've been inspired to want to go on so many more fun places to go with my boyfriend. I've become that basic white bitch, and I'm damn proud of it. What's wrong with a little fun? Anyways, I've complied a list of awesome (and yes a little cliche and CHEAP and/or FREE) date ideas I think would be perfect for the Fall season! Of course these are all ideas I want to do soon and take lots of pictures for my Facebook and Instagram but I hope some of you will want to go out there and do these this year as well!

1. Halloween Movie Marathon

The one tradition I follow every Halloween season is a Halloween movie marathon! Nothing gets me in the spirit more than watching some of my favorite Halloween flicks, most of which AREN'T in the horror genre but rather the family friendly ones I enjoyed watching as a kid. Movie marathons with your significant other are always fun and romantic. It's a perfect time to cuddle up to your cutie, snuggled under a fuzzy blanket together, sharing delicious snacks, hell, why not some candy corn and Halloween themed cookies. Pick out a few of your favorite movies between the two of you and have a spooky time.

2. Visit a Pumpkin Patch

There's nothing more cliché than visiting a pumpkin patch with your other half. Picking out the perfect pumpkins to carve together later (which can become another great Fall tradition to do with each other), grab some hot cider and apple donuts, maybe partake in an spontaneous pumpkin patch photo-shoot, who knows?

3. Try a Corn Maze

Corn Mazes are a huge thing here in the Midwest. My friends and I go out to the pumpkin patch and corn mazes every Fall season donned in our flannel attire. But this year I want to take the challenge with my boyfriend to a corn maze as well. They're a bit challenging and overall extremely hard to ever even accomplish but they're fun and a tradition! Following silly signs and a unhelpful map, holding hands will surrounded by corn, what could be more romantic?

4. Conquer a Haunted House

I'm not a huge fan of haunted houses, although in the last couple years I've faced my fears with horror a lot more and can enjoy the idea of a haunted house or hay ride without fearing my life. Haunted houses are another excellent Halloween tradition to partake in. Although you get the wits scared out of you, it's a fun experience overall, especially when you escape the haunted house with a sigh of relief and accomplishment. Holding your partner's hand, feeling safe and protected in their arms, and taking on the scary atmosphere around you can be quite a bonding experience!

5. Go Apple Picking

My boyfriend and I have been wanting to go fruit picking for awhile now! Fall season means apple season, which is my favorite fruit, so I'm very excited to go apple picking for the first time. Find your local apple orchard where you can pick your own apples. My local orchard also has famous apple donuts and cider to enjoy while you're there. Enjoy the idea of picking your own fruit in the fresh air with your babe.

6. Bake Halloween Cookies

Baking Halloween themed cookies are always an excellent choice because who doesn't love cookies? Baking together is a great way to spend time together and bond on a more intimate level. So why not making it more fun and spooky by decorating some yummy Halloween cookies together. If you want to walk down memory lane together, go to your local grocery store and pick up those Pillsbury sugar cookies, you know the ones with the pumpkins or ghosts on them, and pop them in the oven for a short time and voila! Pop on a Halloween movie and snuggle up on the couch together for that movie marathon night in.

7. Attend a Halloween Party + Couples Costumes

I'm a sucker for couples costumes! It's a great way to get creative with your partner and show off your cuteness together! Attending a Halloween costume party is the perfect way to show off your sweet costumes and have a good time! Visiting a Halloween store is also a great way to get excellent costume ideas and decorations for your own house! But it's also a great way to just have a silly time together exploring the pop up Halloween store.

8. Set Up a Car Picnic

Picnics are always a romantic go-to date idea...but a picnic in the open trunk of a car (truck, van, or SUV would work best in this scenario), stargazing at the night sky, enjoying a hot beverage and a tasty meal, cozying on up with your cutie on a chilly Fall night is so romantic, like the scene has stepped right out of a romance novel. It's a little adventurous and unique. You'll share a lot of great moments and memories together under the moonlight.

9. Take a Scenic Hike

As the seasons change, so does the nature around us. The leaves are changing colors and falling all around us. Whenever you step outside, there's a beautiful scene everywhere you go because of the vibrant colors around. Hiking a new trail is a great way to take in all the beautiful nature and fresh air of the Fall season. Hiking is a great way to connect and talk for hours and take a fun journey with your partner. Fall is also a great time to hike because the weather is a bit cooler, opposed to the scorching summer heat, or the freezing temperatures and snow of the winter time.

10. Hit Up Your Local Coffee Shop & Bookstore

Although you can do this type of date any time of the year, it's definitely more cliche to go to a coffee shop, pick up a pumpkin flavored anything, and explore a bookstore together with your love. There's something about exploring a local bookstore that just says "Fall" to time. As the season rolls on, the chilly air appears. Nothing is better than entering a warm building and sipping on a delicious coffee, maybe checking out a couple of great books you might want to read, maybe even starting one. This  idea can be turned into a date that is super cheap, very cliche, and overall adorable! Happy Fall!
